The Rossi d’Angera distillery uses a manually controlled discontinuous still with copper steam-boilers to produce grappas that are the perfect combination of craftsmanship, ancient know-how and the Italian spirit.
Once the grappa has been distilled, the most hidden part of its existence begins in the silence of the barrique cellar. In barrels of fine quality woods, the grappa begins to take on a deep straw-yellow colour that that turns gold tinged with amber and gradually becomes mahogany.

The setting for sampling authentic Rossi d’Angera is the Barricaia del Puntale, which also houses the Association of Italian Sommelier of Varese, and is situated in the Borgo di Mustonate, an ancient hamlet overlooking Lake Varese. The tasting tour begins here with the bouquet emanating from the barriques of Troncais, Allier and Limousin oak. The great vintages mature in the underground cellar, known as “Paradise”. The guided tasting tours are held in the room on the upper floor.
The Rossi d’Angera sensory tasting tour can be enjoyed even more by a taking the trip in a carriage through the sights and sounds of the Lombard countryside.
